Sims 4 Mod Fix is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. We collect minimal data:
Purchase information: When you buy the app through LemonSqueezy, they collect your email and payment details to process the transaction. We receive your email and license key — not your payment card details.
Anonymous usage analytics: The app can collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as app launches and feature usage) to help us improve the product. This is opt-in (off by default — analytics only runs if you turn it on in Settings). When enabled, the data cannot identify you personally: it never includes your filenames, folder paths, mod names, file contents, or email. See the "Third-Party Services" section below for what is sent.
What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, upload, or transmit your mod files, game files, or folder contents
We do not collect your Sims 4 account credentials
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
We do not track your browsing activity outside the app
Local Data
All scanning, diagnosis, and fixing happens locally on your computer. Your mod data never leaves your machine. The app stores its database (scan results, quarantine records, settings) in your local app data folder.
Third-Party Services
LemonSqueezy: Processes payments and manages your license. Their privacy policy.
Analytics (Aptabase): If — and only if — you turn analytics on in Settings, the app sends anonymous usage events through Aptabase. Telemetry is opt-in and off by default. The events contain only non-identifying data: SHA-256 content hashes (which cannot be reversed into a file or its name), a coarse mod-count range (for example "50-200" rather than an exact number), your operating system, and your Sims 4 game version. It never sends your filenames, folder paths, mod names, file contents, email, or any account identifier. Aptabase privacy policy.
Website Analytics & Advertising
This applies to our website (sims4modfixer.com), not the desktop app. Our website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads (gtag) to measure traffic and advertising conversions, and these set advertising and analytics cookies. Visitors in the EU and UK are asked to consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set — you can accept or decline using the cookie banner at the bottom of the page. If you decline, those cookies are not stored. This is separate from the app's own opt-in analytics described above.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of any data we hold about you by emailing us. Since we store almost nothing server-side, this is straightforward.
Children
Sims 4 Mod Fix is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
